Planting Day (Part 2) & Shellebration

On September 24, the oysters from North Hempstead Beach Park and Tappen Marina were planted in our conservation management area, with the help of Town of Oyster Bay, marking the conclusion of CSHH’s fourth community oyster gardening season.

The following day, we were able to close out the season and Shellebrate! The Hempstead Harbour Club generously hosted our fourth annual Shellebration, giving CSHH board and staff a chance to thank all of the oyster gardening volunteers from the 2025 season.

Thank you to everyone who helped make delivery day, both planting days, and each oyster-gardening session across the four locations so successful!
