On September 24, volunteers gathered at the Hempstead Harbour Club for the fifth annual Shellebration. This gives the opportunity for CSHH board and staff to thank all the volunteers for their hard work, making this season so successful.
One of the major highlights of the night was the stunning sunset that colored the sky!

The following week, on September 30, the oysters at the two public locations (North Hempstead Beach Park and Tappen Marina) were planted in the Hempstead Harbor conservation management area, marking the official end to the 2026 community oyster-gardening season. Thank you to everyone who helped on planting day, as well as those who participated this year but were not able to attend the Shellebration.
