Save Our Shorelines at Port Washington Library

Coalition to Save Hempstead Harbor was pleased to be included in Transition Town Port Washington’s “Save Our Shorelines” event: “Protecting Hempstead Harbor from Overdevelopment.”

CSHH presented newly available data from our recently commissioned water sustainability report. Other experts presented, including environmental researcher David Jakim and environmental attorney Frank Piccininni.

The special event covered:

  • Hempstead Harbor water quality

  • The impact of new development on drinking water supply

  • Important ecosystems along our shoreline

  • Opportunities for community involvement

  • The proposed development at 145 W. Shore Rd.

This event was free to the community and took place on Thursday, October 20, at 7 pm at the Port Washington Public Library.
