CSHH Junior Ambassadors

The CSHH Junior Ambassador (CJA) program is a volunteer and educational experience for younger members of our community, ages 5-18. We are looking for observers, stewards, and leaders for Hempstead Harbor and its surrounding environment. Your unique abilities and interests are welcome.

There are seasonal events (see below) with additional pop-up events throughout the year. Junior Ambassador Officers (JAO) help to create the plan for the year. Elections are held each year in August.

To stay up to date on upcoming events, please register here. Community service hours are available upon request.

We encourage engagement throughout the year. Below is a list of suggested activities as a CSHH Junior Ambassador appropriate for a range of ages. We would love to hear from you, contact us at juniors@thecshh.org.

Message from the JAO:

Protecting the environment is important because it helps us do our part to strengthen our community and make our ecosystem a better home for wildlife. Although we don’t usually see our work make an immediate impact, joining us can help teach you important life values and contribute to improving our local environment.”
